Globally accepted inspection methods often include information security verification for the voluntary product certification of “Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment” with networking capabilities. This process helps prevent potential information security risks that could arise from remotely managing equipment and providing services.

  • How do I get the station’s security code?

    To find the status code for your charger, refer to the user manual that comes with the packaging or during installation. You can also visit StatusCode to access more information about status codes and error messages. These resources can help identify and resolve any issues that may arise during charging. 

  • Would there be possibility for other systems to interface with the ZEROVA CSMS to extract the information?

    We have a set of language-agnostic Web APIs that follows the RESTful architecture for web services where possible. If EVSEs are managed by ZEROVA CSMS, our partners could control charging or get charging session info easily by accessing our API service and focus on building their own EV charging business.

  • What protocol do the ZEROVA CSMS support to communicate with EVSEs?

    ZEROVA CSMS currently supports OCPP 1.6J and will upgrade to OCPP 2.0.1 in the near future.

  • How much maintenance does an EV charger need?

    Regarding AC chargers, usually, the only maintenance required is a brief check for any damages to the cables and plugs to guarantee they're functioning correctly. These chargers are built to last for several years before any servicing is necessary with regular usage. If you encounter any issues with your charging charger, please complete the owner support form to submit a support request. 

  • How do I install a Level 2 EV charging station?

    We highly advise seeking the assistance of a certified electrician to assist you with selecting and installing an EV charger. An electrician can provide insights on whether any electrical upgrades are necessary, advise on the ideal location for installation, check if you are eligible for utility incentives, determine if any approvals are needed, and provide other helpful information.

  • How fast is AC charger?

    Most vehicles have different battery and charging systems meaning charging may be limited to the technology of your vehicle.  

    For AC (Level 2) charging: your vehicle's charge rate may be limited to the onboard AC-to-DC charging system on your vehicle, most full battery electric vehicles (BEVs) allow 7kW, though most more modern BEVs may accept 11kW+.  

    Check with your vehicle manufacturer-provided specifications to see what charging rates your vehicle allows. Charging chargers will charge up to the limit of your vehicle's ability OR the maximum charger power.
